Palantir Sues Former Engineers Over Alleged Trade Secrets Theft for AI Startup
Palantir Technologies has initiated federal legal action against two ex-senior AI engineers, accusing them of misappropriating confidential documents to establish a competing AI integration firm. The lawsuit alleges Radha Jain and Joanna Cohen transferred sensitive files—including healthcare revenue diagrams and proprietary demonstration frameworks—before launching Percepta under General Catalyst's venture umbrella.
The complaint characterizes the defendants' actions as a systematic breach of trust, targeting what Palantir describes as its "crown jewels": source code, customer workflows, and engagement strategies representing billions in intellectual property. Jain, a key architect of Palantir's AIP Logic platform, departed in November 2024 alongside Cohen.
General Catalyst CEO Hemant Taneja previously acknowledged developing "a version" of Palantir's business model, adding dimension to the allegations. The case underscores intensifying competition in enterprise AI solutions as tech firms aggressively protect proprietary systems.
